THE Insurance Commission (IC) clarified on Thursday that plan holders of preneed company Danvil Plans Inc. may still file claims beyond the July 30 deadline for filing.
An advisory from the liquidator designated by the IC clarified that the deadline only applies to plan holders who have claims against Danvil Plans but are not included in the master list of plan holders.
“This is to clarify that parties having claims against Danvil Plans Inc. shall file their claims with the liquidator [or with the IC] until July 30, together with all supporting documents detailing the character, basis and amount of each and every claim, either personally or by mail. Claims filed after July 30 shall be barred forever and shall not be allowed to participate in the partition, distribution, settlement or payment in the liquidation against Danvil,” the advisory said.
However, the deadline does not apply to consumers who are in the master list of plan holders.
“Be advised that the deadline is for claimants purporting to have an educational and/or pension plan[s] with Danvil, but are not in its master list. For plan holders who are in the master list of Danvil, however, they can still file their claims documents at the Danvil office in Quezon City even after the July 30 deadline,” the advisory said.
The requirements for the filing of claims against Danvil Plans are the policy face page (one page); the contract provision (consists of five pages); certificate of full payment (if the plan is already fully paid); and photocopy of two government-issued identification documents with the photo and signature of the plan holder.
Danvil Plans was put under liquidation as of December 16, 2014. As a consequence, its trust fund with trustee banks was put under the control of the IC and can only be withdrawn exclusively for purposes of paying benefits of its plan holders.

Although I was informed that Danvil was on liquidation, I received a copy of apointment of Atty. Caalim to be the conservator, my problem is due to changing of address for many time when I was still abroa, I wasn”t sure if I received my my certificate of full payment or misplaced or lost it. Can I request a copy of certificate of full payment thru Danvil Plans so that I can claim my benefits thru the conservatorship of Atty Caalim?
