KASPERSKY Lab and WISeKey recently announced the release of its special edition cyber-resilience mobile-security solution called the WISeID Kaspersky Lab Security.
This application shields smartphones from the rapid spread of a malware targeting mobile devices.
Internet hackers nowadays are getting more and more sophisticated in looking for ways to hijack mobiles for Bitcoin mining, or to trick mobile users into divulging their personal identity and bank-account information.
While mobile operating systems (OS) give app developers significant security features, hackers have still been able to exploit the massive installed base of Android and iOS devices by using various infection vectors to place malware.
Anthony Chua, Kaspersky Lab Southeast Asia Territory Channel manager for the Philippines and Singapore, said Kaspersky detected nearly 17 million mobile malware attacks last year alone.
This alarming scenario should serve as a wakeup call for consumers, including more than 38 million users from the Philippines, he said.
“The threat against our devices is now a highly concerning reality which involves our identity, our privacy, our money and everything our phone has inside it,” the executive said. “We encourage users to take advantage of this app, which can at least be the first line of defense of our devices against hackers.”
The WISeID Kaspersky Lab Security locks personal data, like account usernames and passwords, credit-card numbers and access PINs, into a secure personal-data, organizer.
These generate accountable identities for Web activity while the data remain protected in a secure cloud vault. The pro-bono app includes Kaspersky Mobile Security SDK, a tested solution for protecting mobile phones against security risks.
It delivers advanced security features, such as Web and network protection, device protection and risk detection to smartphones, offering users an effective layer of self-defense.
Among other things, WISeID keeps passwords in an encrypted vault, generates hard-to-crack passwords, and safely synchronizes data between computers and devices on multiple platforms, using secure cloud storage.
Only the user’s Master Password and/or defined pattern can unlock the vault.
In addition, there’s a facial recognition authentication to ensure protection.
The WISeID is accessible. This app with built-in SDK is available for iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac OSX, Windows and Kindle, https://www.wiseid.com
