DIRECTOR General Ronald M. dela Rosa, National Police chief, has ordered a nationwide manhunt against businessman Jack Lam who was ordered arrested by President Duterte over allegations of bribery and economic sabotage.
Lam was earlier accused by Justice Secretary Vitaliano N. Aguirre II of attempted bribery to release the 1,316 Chinese who were arrested for working without permit at the Fontana Leisure Parks and Casino in Clark Field, Pampanga.
Dela Rosa said that, owing to alleged bribery and economic sabotage, the President ordered the arrest of the businessman who is an operator of online gaming in Fontana, Clark, Pampanga.
Likewise, dela Rosa urged the public to immediately report to the nearest police station any information that would lead to the arrest of Lam.
“Kung sino nakakaalam kung nasaan si Jack Lam ngayon, ito ay isang Chinese national na nag-o-operate ng online gaming sa Fontana, Clark, ipagbigay-alam lang po sa nearest police station, [Whoever knows the whereabouts of Jack Lam now, he is a Chinese national operating an online gaming in Fontana, Clark, please report it to the nearest police station],” dela Rosa said.
He noted that he has issued instruction to all police units nationwide to arrest Lam.
Dela Rosa said he has coordinated with Immigration Commissioner Jaime H. Morente about the directive of Duterte.
However, dela Rosa said he has no idea whether a Hold Departure Order (HDO) against Lam has already been issued.
Duterte has directed the National Police and the Bureau of Immigration to make sure that the businessman would not be able to leave the country.
Dela Rosa said the police will do everything so that “technicalities” will not be raised when they arrest Lam such that there is still no case filed against him.
