City Social Welfare and Development Officer and Public Employment Service Office manager Francisco Barredo said they will work at popular fast-food chains like Kentucky Fried Chicken, Thank God It’s Friday (TGIF) and Krispy Krème, among others, in the Middle East.
Barredo said 12 of the 31 will be sent to Kuwait, 13 to Bahrain, 3 to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and 3 to Oman. They will work as service crews, cashiers and receptionists with perks that include free accommodation, transportation and food allowances, according to Barredo.
He said the hiring agency have chosen to hire workers in Zamboanga City due to the impressive work ethics exhibited by Zamboangueño workers belonging to the prior batch of qualifiers.
He said the screening was conducted by the LEAD Resources Management Corp. (LEAD), which was tapped by the Kuwait-Americana Foods Corp., to look for workers in this city.
The Kuwait-Americana Foods Corp. is a group of companies that supplies manpower to popular fast-food chains in the Middle East, he said.
