THE fund-raising exhibition series featuring members of the national volleyball pool, dubbed “Clash of Heroes”, will not push through on Friday at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.
Organizers decided to postpone the opening matches for May 15 in the same venue to some of the national pool members are playing for Ateneo de Manila and De La Salle in the best-of-three Season 79 University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Finals.
The Larong Volleyball ng Pilipinas Inc. and organizer Philippine Sports Commission-Philippine Olympic Committee Media Group announced the postponement on Tuesday and said tickets previously purchased by fans will still be honored.
De La Salle’s Kim Fajardo, Kianna Dy and Dawn Macandili and Ateneo’s Maddie Madayag and Kat Tolentino have been nominated to the national women’s pool.
The “Clash of Heroes,” a fund-raising event for the national team’s needs for their preparation for the 29th Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur in August, will also have stops in Cebu City and Davao City later next month.
