ALTEC Lansing/AL Infinity Llc. is banking on the ability of Filipinos to market the audio devices manufacturer’s products.
Gabriel Dahan, CEO of France-based Market Makers Group, said the Philippines is a special market for Altec Lansing because Filipinos are quite skilled in promoting products, such as audio devices.
“Having travelled around Asia for the last 25 years, I have observed the Philippines is very good in products consumer electronic products, such as Altec Lansing,” Dahan said in a recent news briefing.
“From my point of view, Filipinos are experts when it comes to launch a product or a brand.
Basically, Filipinos start in promoting the product, Most of the Asean [Association of Southeast Asian Nations] countries don’t do that.” He added the country’s counterparts in the Asean directly place the products in the shops. However, Dahan said times have changed and companies need to implement marketing campaigns to develop brand awareness among consumers. Banbros Inc. President Michael Bangayan said Altec Lansing is currently reintroducing its brand in the country after the absence of several years. The company was absent in the local market and other countries because the parent company had a change of ownership. Banbros is the official Philippine distributor of Altec Lansing products.
To make up for the lost time, Bangayan said Altec Lansing recently introduced several brands in the local market, which include Bluetooth speakers. Bangayan claims that Altec Lansing gives premium to the Philippine market.
“We are just a quarter behind the United States as far as launching of new products are concerned,” he said in an interview at the sidelines of a product launch.
