READY for a change in your wardrobe regime?
It’s time to swap out sandals for boots, trade in tanks for sweaters and, of course, switch your iced tea order to a pumpkin spice latte.
Switching seasons and keeping up with the latest trends doesn’t have to break the bank, though. Of all the seasons, we vote fall the most likely to repeat trends—with classics, like riding boots and plaid button-ups becoming trusty regulars that come back into style year-after-year.
Add a new look into your rotation of classics—something a little unexpected, but right on point for fall 2015.
Here’s the formula for a fall 2015 outfit that won’t set you back:
- Start with a bold blouse. Geometric prints with bursts of color are having a major fashion moment this fall. A blouse that embodies the season’s latest trends is a great first building block for a trendy outfit. The season’s blouses would be perfect under a cropped moto jacket for the weekend, or a neutral blazer for a fun work week look.
- Add in a pair of versatile pants. A go-to alternative to denim? Black ponte pants. These slim-fit, straight-leg pants have a stretch knit and they work well with heels or boots. They’ll go with just about anything you’ve got in your fall wardrobe—from boyfriend-fit flannels and loose knits to more structured peplum blouses or button-ups.
- A must-have accessory. The easiest way to keep your look fresh season-after-season is to add in one must-have accessory. After a good run of micro purses and bucket bags, we’re loving autumn’s new fave shape that is a hybrid of both: the satchel.
This black-and-white Apt. 9 Abell Dome Satchel (www.kohls.com) with gold hardware is another versatile accessory that will play well with just about everything in your wardrobe. It comes with a domed top and removable crossbody straps.
