SMALL and medium-sized retailers in Boracay learned the basics of micro-retailing during the “Lakbay Turo Para sa Micro-Tourism” seminar conducted by the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry and Department of Tourism (DOT).
Internationally renowned expert in retail and human-resource development, Francisco T. de la Cruz Jr. served as the speaker of the one-day seminar held at Seawind Resort Hotel in Boracay where he discussed “Learning the Basics and Essentials of Effective Micro-Retail Operations.”

The seminar series for micro-retailers is conducted in different tourist areas in the country with the DOT’s successful “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” global campaign.
The PRA-DOT program is part of the retail sector’s preparation for the country’s hosting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Conference Leaders’ Summit in November this year, and the Asean economic integration that starts later this 2015.
PRA, the country’s recognized organization of retailers and suppliers to the retail industry, will host the 17th Asia- Pacific Retailers Convention and Exhibition (APRCE) 2015 from October 28 to 30 at the SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.
The 17th APRCE is the biggest and most important retail industry event in the Asia-Pacific region organized by the Federation of Asia Pacific Retailers Association, the regional organization of recognized national retail associations of its 17 member-countries in the Asia Pacific.
