ASIA’S pioneering information and communications technology (ICT) and broadcasting industry events would witness a 30-member delegation from the Philippines.
“CommunicAsia, EnterpriseIT and BroadcastAsia provide an opportune venue for Philippine companies to be truly exposed to innovative products and advanced IT applications and solutions, which they can adopt to stay ahead of competition,” Agnes Leung, assistant project director (Communications Events) from events organizer Singapore Exhibition Services, told reporters.
Leung flew to Manila last week to promote the four-day exhibitions—CommunicAsia2015, EntepriseIT2015 and BroadcastAsia2015—at the Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore that carries an average fee of S$1,900 (P63,615.52) a day per participant.
The exhibition will bring to the forefront a wide range of the latest technologies and solutions that could give Philippine companies the edge needed to adapt and compete on a global stage, Leung said.
She told the BusinessMirror there are several tracks that could interest Philippine companies participating in the exhibition: connected cities, smart businesses and governments and highly mobile work-force management.
Leung explained the opportunity for Philippine institutions to deal with an expected 1,500 participants at the exhibitions beginning June 2 may enhance the forecast local ICT spending that the International Data Corp. (IDC) predicts to be on an upswing this year.
The IDC has noted that Philippine ICT industry spending would be heavily impacted by the third Platform–cloud, social business, Big Data and analytics, and mobility.
And the usage of these technologies will be driven by the needs of companies seeking for new and effective ways of engagement, IDC said.
Furthermore, local organizations are expected to start embracing newer technologies, beginning with 3D printing, and at an emergent level, Internet of Things into their business processes.
The Philippine office of NTEK Systems Inc., which is part of the country’s official delegation to Singapore, will join the CommunicAsia contingent and present its smart devices and solutions for diverse markets.
“We are excited to be a part of a well-recognized ICT industry event such as CommunicAsia. It’s a great opportunity to showcase a new era of technology in communications and security, and show the public our company’s capability to create smarter products and solutions that can change the way people live and work in the age of connected devices.” said Norman Pardalis, marketing manager, NTEK Systems Inc.
With mobile devices and connectivity ingrained in our work and everyday lives, CommunicAsia2015 and EnterptiseIT2015 will provide a deeper look into the entire info-communications ecosystem, with a strong spotlight on state-of-the-art technologies and solutions that can empower a “connected” city, government, enterprise and consumer. SatComm2015, the strategic platform for the satellite communications industry, and the CommunicAsia2015 Summit will, likewise, take place as part of the industry event.
The Philippines is part of the 76 percent of the total number of participants to CommunicAsia2015 who represent Asia. According to documents provided by Leung, majority of those who registered said they are top or senior general managers (40 percent). About 14 percent of those who registered said they are in the carrier and mobile industry, while 12 percent said they represent the communications and data communications service provider industry.
Leung said Huwaei would have the biggest exhibit. Among 23 countries projected to have group pavilions during the exhibit, three are members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations with Indonesia having two. The Philippines was not listed to have paid for a pavilion during the exhibit.
