AMADEUS, a technology partner for the global travel industry, announced on Thursday the roll out of Amadeus Agency Insight, a suite of products and services that will allow travel agencies to access “big data” information and diversify the options on services they can offer travelers.
Pascal Clement, Amadeus head of travel intelligence, said that the tool—the Amadeus Agency Insight—will allow travel agencies to access new routes and markets to address travelers’ search behaviors.
“In today’s business, knowledge is power. Understanding how travellers search and book for travel is vital for travel players.
Amadeus Agency Insight will empower travel agents to leverage data and target the right travelers at the right time,” Clement said in a press release.
He added: “From a business perspective, this also helps travel agencies increase their value. Innovative insights emerge from the vast array of data that can be handled by our Travel Intelligence Engine, without which customers can only see part of the picture.”
Two modules comprise the Amadeus Agency Insight: search analysis and booking analysis. Both allow instant insight into their customers’ travel intentions by analyzing search data.
The search analysis allows travel agencies to identify the most popular destinations, travel dates and trip duration, which gives them leverage to fit their offers based on expected demand.
The booking analysis enables agencies to benchmark their market position and evaluate the competition, while also revealing trends on growing routes and airlines which are significant insights when planning entry into new markets.
The Amadeus Travel Intelligence business unit looks to connect travel processes and leverage Big Data technologies to assist travel agencies differentiate themselves within the market and offer better travel experiences.
A core part of the Amadeus Agency Insight package is the Amadeus Travel Intelligence engine can operate in various environments, including integration with traditional business intelligence setups.
It is a cloud-based platform that leverages Big data technology and offers travel agencies, airlines and other travel players make better business and operational decisions based on unlimited data-processing capabilities.
