The Altas have seen the first breakout performances of main men in Nigerian center Bright Akhuetie and reigning Most Valuable Player Earl Scottie Thompson during their morale-boosting 77-69 victory over the Blazers last Friday.
Akhuetie scored an NCAA career-high of 44 points, 19 rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks. Thompson, on the other hand, quietly recorded 14 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and three steals for the Altas in their win on July 3.
