[dropcap]H[/dropcap]eart Evangelista must be the happiest girl in local showbiz these days. Over the weekend in Sorsogon, her boyfriend Sen. Chiz Escudero finally popped the question, and of course she replied with a resounding ‘Yes!’ Actors Rocco Nacino, Lovi Poe, and a few other close friends of the couple witnessed the proposal, which was capped by fireworks. Chiz and Heart became sweethearts in July 2012, after both emerged from controversial failed relationships. The wedding is planned for early 2015. All about love We were glad to find time to watch over the weekend High On Love, the show of lovers Aiza Seguerra and Liza Diño at the Music Museum. Aiza took charge of all the vocal requirements of the show, while Liza performed as a professional flamenco dancer. The show was a huge success because it was simple, sincere and so real. The songs in the repertoire were very well chosen, and as Aiza told the crowd, the show was about their journey as lovers. We have never heard a more heart-tugging interpretation of Geroge Canseco’s “Hiram” until last weekend’s show, and we caught a few people wiping away tears. We also liked Aiza’s interpretation “Bituing Walang Ningning” and “Kanlungan.” Classics like “Kiss from a Rose,” “A Thousand Years” and “Here, There and Everywhere” were also very well-received by the audience. In one of her dance numbers, Liza was so overwhelmed with emotion and broke into tears, and the audience cheered for her until she exited from the stage. As announced by Aiza, the show is their first collaboration, and their last as single individuals, because they will get married very soon in Los Angeles, California. The couple will start preparing for a simple and solemn wedding in the US before the year ends, and there are also plans of having a big wedding party in Manila early next year.
All planned out Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes have only four months left to make sure their December 30 wedding will be smooth and memorable. The well-loved couple have friends who will help them out plan their big day. Marian shared that the checklist is now finalized and they will take it step by step. She also added that preparations are being made in order for her Spanish father, Francisco Javier Alonso, to fly to Manila during the Christmas season to walk her down the aisle of the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral in Quezon City. “I’m excited and jittery at the same time, but I am confident that everything will be smooth and the wedding will be beautiful,” she told us. For the meantime, she divides her time between work and making sure the wedding checklist is regularly updated. “I have my Eat Bulaga days, my dance show schedule, and I’m also working on a movie for the Metro Manila Film Festival.”
All ready Young lovers Rocco Nacino and Lovi Poe are both excited that principal photography for their film Soap Opera is now under way. Cebuano filmmaker Remton Zuasola is on top of the project, an entry to the 2014 Cinema One Originals film festival in November. “I am more than excited for this project,” enthused Rocco when we bumped into him having a quiet dinner date with Lovi recently. “Working on indie films gives us a chance to spread our wings in territories we normally would not get into. And it is doubly exciting since I am working with the most beautiful leading lady in the world.” For her part, Lovi said that she looks forward to shoot in Cebu. “I love Cebu and I’m just glad that we will shoot the film there. Everything is ready, and Rocco and I just can’t wait to play our respective parts.” Ricky Gallardo / all access
