IN celebration of the Christmas season, Guevarra’s will be offering special dishes in addition to its well-loved buffet selection starting on October 15, 2016
Thus, it gives diners an additional reason to flock to this foodie destination in the heart of San Juan.
Getting in a festive mood is made easy with Christmas Chicken Liver Parfait, which is topped with raisins and minced bell peppers. The rich taste of the liver pate is balanced with the infusion of moscato. It is best enjoyed atop toasted bread.
Bringing to life mom’s cooking is the colorful Christmas Macaroni Salad—made with macaroni, gelatin cubes, raisins and dressing.
The Beef Morcon, on the other hand, is food made with love and dedication. The rolled top round is made extra tasty with bacon, Spanish chorizo, carrots and hard-boiled eggs. (Enjoy it with no strings attached, literally!)
The culinary creativity of Chef Roland Laudico is showcased in the Embotido Lasagna Roll. In this season of giving, he openly shared that the secret to a really moist embutido is to soak the breadcrumbs in milk. In his hands, the classic Filipino meat loaf covered with Lasagna sheet is a neatly wrapped gift waiting to discovered.
A feast is not complete without rice. And what could be more special than paella? Guevarra’s whipped up a tasty rice dish with bits of liempo, chicken and chorizo—Christmas Paella. It is playfully decorated with strips of red and green bell peppers.
The Roast Turkey with cornmeal stuffing (with two kinds of sauces—cranberry and gravy) may put one in mood to give thanks for all the blessings one has received throughout the year.
Nonmeat eaters will be delighted with the Fish Mayonesa—baked whole fish with tartar dressing. With its artistic presentation, diners may be confused whether to eat it or stare at it.
At the dessert station, revel at the classic Christmas pudding- baked bread cut-ups with a spread of glazed fruit preserves. Or at the Suman Fruitcake—a twist on the Filipino rice cake laden with fruit preserves. Puto Bumbong and Bibingka may bring memories of chilly dawn masses to diners.
The sweetest thing about Guevarra’s however, is not the food. It is the fact that it has been contributing a portion of its sales to Children’s Joy Foundation, a center which houses disadvantaged children nationwide, which Guevarra’s, has been avidly supporting for the last four years.
Guevarra’s is at 387 P. Guevarra corner Argonnes Street Addition Hills, San Juan. For inquiries and reservations, contact 705-1811, 705-1874, 0917-311- 2222.
