Mariel Rodriguez and husband Robin Padilla are set to fly in the United States anytime now, in anticipation of Mariel giving birth to their first baby, Maria Isabella.
A few days before that, ABS-CBN Publishing threw a baby shower for the couple at the Marco Polo Hotel Ortigas. This is their third baby shower, actually, but if you think three is enough, Robin has announced during the event he would like another baby shower for them. “Para sa dagdag na mga regalo,” he joked. Continuing, he said they’re just truly happy that they would like to celebrate the coming of their baby as many times before birth.
The couple that afternoon was beaming with excitement. They were joined by their closest family and friends, including showbiz colleagues Bianca Gonzalez, Iza Calzado, Ara Mina, Teddy Corpuz,
Jugs Jugueta, Bobot Mortiez, Miles Ocampo, Bianca King, Julius and Christine Babao, Tuesday Vargas, Ethel Booba, Roxanne Guinoo, Alex Gonzaga and many more.
Best wishes to Mariel and Robin!

A number of people have asked me about the timeslot change of the James Reid and Nadine Lustre’s soap Til I Met You on ABS-CBN.
You see, when it was launched, it was the show that followed FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. Now, it’s the third soap opera to air after TV Patrol. Apparently, this move was sparked by the Jadines who requested to move Til I Met You to a later timeslot because, 1.) they are used to the timeslot since their first show On The Wings of Love also took the third slot after the news; and 2.) it gives them a better chance to catch it since sometimes they finish late at work.
This doesn’t mean, however, that the show taking over the timeslot, Mapaghanggang Wakas, is not a contender. Based on the initial ratings data and social-media feedback, it seems the Jericho Rosales and Arci Muñoz-starrer started with a bang.
Mapaghanggang Wakas features Waldo (Rosales), a young man who has a deep love for Aryann (Muñoz). Despite their youth, their love for each other is genuine. One night changes their story, however, as Waldo accidentally kills a man who attempted to rape Aryann. Waldo is sent to prison for manslaughter. Feeling responsible for Waldo’s misfortune, Aryann takes on different jobs to raise money to get him out of jail and meets Tristan (John Estrada), who gives her the hand she desperately needs.
Not soon after being freed, Waldo is faced with the vengeful brother of the man he killed. Waldo falls off a cliff and drifts into the sea, leaving everyone, except Aryann, to assume he’s dead.
Still, Aryann moves on and finds her way to Tristan, the man who didn’t take advantage of her vulnerability during her darkest time. The two fall in love and are set to be wed.
During the announcement of their wedding, however, Aryann realizes the undeniable truth that Waldo is alive. They cross paths—but Aryann is no longer sure if she still shares the love they once had.
Will Waldo and Aryann rediscover the love they once shared? Will Tristan be the one who stands between the two of them? Will they accept that time does change everything?
This series marks the comeback of Jericho in prime time, following his successful series Bridges of Love, which made waves in different territories, including Latin America. Arci also returns to prime time after her successful turn as Norma in Pasion De Amor. Included in the stellar cast are Gelli de Belen, Rita Avila, Danita Paner, Liza Lorena, Lito Pimentel, Justin Cuyugan, Marco Gumabao, Maika Rivera and Jomari Angeles.
