GLOBAL FC and Pasagard take the pitch to highlight opening-day action of the 2016 United Football League on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The Global-Pasagard match is set at 6:15 p.m. Former second division sides Forza and Agila open hostilities in Group B at 4 p.m, while JP Boltes and Laos play in the nightcap at 8:30 p.m.
Saturday’s matches usher in what could be an explosive Sunday, when defending champion Kaya collides with Stallion, the same team it defeated in the semifinals of the Cup in August last year. They tangle at 6:15 p.m.
Sunday’s matches also pit reigning league winner Ceres-La Salle FC and Loyola Meralco Sparks at 8:30 p.m.
Ceres is parading former Bundesliga player and national team star Stephan Schrock for the first time. He will be lining up against fellow Azkal Phil Younghusband, who remains at the forefront of the Loyola assault.
