THE National Collegiate Athletic Association-South (NCAA) opens its 18th season on September 8 with season host First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities (FAITH) promising an elaborate opening ceremony at the FAITH multipurpose covered court in Tanauan City, Batangas.
FAITH President Saturnino Belen said the 18th season of the league will promote the theme “Let’s Keep the Flame Ablaze.”
FAITH Managing Director Juan Lozano represented Belen during the weekly Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum at Shakey’s Malate on Tuesday.
Belen was joined in the session presented by San Miguel Corp., Accel, Shakey’s and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. by league Management Committee President Lito Arim (FAITH) and members Steve Salazar (University of Perpetual Help-Laguna) and Christopher Quizon (University of Batangas).
Competitions will kick off on September 13 with a heavy five-game schedule highlighted by the FAITH-San Pablo Colleges tussle at 8 .a.m. Emilio Aguinaldo College-Cavite clashes with Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas at 10 a.m. followed by the La Salle-Lipa-Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Calamba match at 12 noon.
A lone women’s game will also be played between Lyceum and La Salle-Lipa at 2 p.m. before University of Batangas and San Beda College-Alabang face each other in the final game of the day.
