PROPERTY titan Megaworld Corp. realizes the enthusiasm of the millennial sector to pursue their dreams in becoming entrepreneurs.
In response to this development, the company founded by real-estate mogul Dr. Andrew Tan recently introduced its 28th residential masterpiece in Makati commercial business district—The Ellis.
In a recent news briefing, Megaworld Vice President for Sales and Marketing Eugene Em Lozano said the company chose Makati City for the project because it embodies the younger generation’s flight in attaining all of their ambitions.
Located at L.P. Leviste Street, Salcedo Village, Lozano assured The Ellis is not a run-of-the-mill condominium but rather boasts of “first-of-its-kind” amenities that are designed with the modern, distinctive needs of its future residents.
“The Ellis is for talented, creative individuals. It is what’s next for society’s ‘who’s next.’ Quoting the words of Victor Hugo, “Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come.” With this project, I believe we have provided a place where everything is an amenity for the creative mind. It’s as if the place speaks to you and says, ‘Go and make something. Create. Make a difference.’ The Ellis is not just a residential condo. It’s an outlook in a life, a mind-set and a lifestyle,” Lozano said during the news briefing.
Interestingly, the name was inspired by the Ellis Island in New York. Located on the upper part of New York Bay, Ellis Island served as the entryway of more than 10 million immigrants to the United States from 1892 to 1954.
Lozano noted The Ellis has several amenities that create an environment for this dynamic group of individuals. One of the amenities at the property is the Colab shared spaces, which is a creative, nonconventional working space where residents can simply walk in, grab a cup of coffee, plug in their laptops and start working.
The Town Hall, on the other hand, is just the right space for casual socials, intimate galas, movie showing and acoustic sessions or even for hosting art exhibits. With its cozy feel and contemporary design, Lozano said every event, whether big or small, will create a great impression on the hosts and the guests.
Furthermore, he said the Pause and Play Room enables residents to take a breather from the daily grind—by hanging out with friends while playing board or computer games and, therefore, proving that no one is really too old for such small pleasures.
Lozano also emphasized that Megaworld has also put a premium on the physical well-being of the residents. It has a fitness center that will let residents lift, push, flex, run, and train and tone all they want with its expansive facilities and equipment to help them stay in shape while they achieve their dreams one by one.
And for some more down time, residents will also have an al-fresco poolside experience with an amazing view of the Makati CBD skyline.
He said its unconventional building shape embodies the character of its residents—the young and creative who continuously defy conventions to get what they want.
Moreover, Lozano noted The Ellis will have Megaworld’s very first Link units, which are small units linked to a main unit, then converted into a workspace, like a resident’s very own small firm, studio workshop area, gallery or home office.
Total land area of the project is 1,091 square meter. The 30-story project will have a total of 237 units. Prices of the units will be from P168,000 to P170,000 per sq m. Turnover will be on 2021.
For those who dare to be different
Megaworld invited three distinguished millennials who dared to pursue a different path to achieve their goals.
Shaira Luna, Jed Root Manila-represented photographer and popularly known as a Promil Kid endorser during her younger days, revealed what she knows about overcoming one-path labels and becoming your own brand. Luna, 30, planned to be a doctor in her career. She enrolled in the Human Biology program of De La Salle University at the age of 13. After six years, she dropped out and later shifted to various courses and became a photographer.
Meanwhile, Vince Golangco, WhenInManila.com founder and president, shared how he turned his passion into growing opportunities and how he plans to expand his current businesses. Golangco, a communication degree graduate of San Diego State University, has more than 10 years of international experience in marketing, advertising and creative writing. He also worked as an information-systems technician in the United States Navy, was marketing and development coordinator at the Make-A-Wish Foundation, senior media planner for Bright Box Media, was a radio DJ and hosted a tech TV show in Manila.
Jackie Van de Ende, Lamudi Philippines Inc. founder and managing director, also talked about how young entrepreneurs can build and buy their own properties. A native of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, she said her passion is to build companies from scratch. Van de Ende said she decided to work in the Philippines to witness how the country achieved an amazing economic growth.
