Part 3
THE important role of public relations (PR) in the management of private, as well as public, organizations has long been established. Generating broad public awareness and strong support for what a company or the government is doing and trying to do can make the difference between failure and success.
As President-elect Rodrigo R. Duterte is sworn in as the country’s next president on June 30, we believe most Filipinos would like for him to succeed in making our country safer, more peaceful and more progressive, in order to ensure a bright future for all Filipinos.
Through this column, members of the Philippine Chapter of the International PR Association (Ipra) have been offering some PR advice to incoming President Duterte. PR veterans Max Edralin Jr. and Rene Nieva, and eminent communications professional and educator Bong Osorio came out with their articles in parts one and two. Now it’s the turn of top PR professional Joy Buensalido to end the series. It is encouraging to note that recent developments seem to indicate that President-elect Duterte has started doing some of the suggestions offered so far, and we hope he will continue to do so.
