THE 1st
Suzuki Nationwide Motorshow, the first biggest local
motorcycle exhibition of its kind ever organized by a
bike manufacturer in the country, blasts off with five
straight days of exhilarating excitement until Sunday at
the Music Hall of the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
The
exhibition began on Wednesday morning with a media
presentation of various participating customized
motorcycles from all the over the country, all of which
were winners in their respective categories during the
regionalized version of the yearlong exhibition
nationwide.
“Over
the years, the motorcycle industry has evolved into an
exciting and dynamic way of life. From business to
leisure to entertainment to sports and fashion, it has
created a whole new trend in our consumers. And we are
proud to say that Suzuki has been in the forefront of
delivering this revolutionary lifestyle,” said Suzuki
Philippines
president Kiyoshi Kawahara.

Winners
of the various Suzuki Nationwide Motor Show regional
exhibitions—from Baguio to Pampanga, Manila, Lucena,
Cebu, Iloilo, Davao and Cagayan de Oro—were invited in
the final Manila leg, “the culmination of the regional
competition in search of the best customized Suzuki
motorcycles showcasing their dynamic personalities.”
The
different participating Suzuki bikes again compete in
the national level and will be judged according to their
creativity and concept, originality, color combination
and paint quality, presentation, safety, functionality
and visitors’ choice. Among the categories were Sporty
Underbone (Raider 150R and Raider 110), Underbone Family
(Shogun Pro, Shogun R+ and Smash Revo), Scooter Category
(Step 125 and Hayate 125), and Backbone Category of the
business models category (Mola 125 and Mola 150).
Impressive and world-renowned motorcycles from Japan and
Thailand also graced the show and these include
international Moto Grand Prix rider John Hopkin’s GSVR;
the Hayabusa 1300 GSXR, considered the fastest
production bike in the world; the all-black B-King, a
1,300-cc street bike; the Intruder 2008, an 1,800-cc
cruiser-type bike; the GSXR 750 of local motorcycle
champion Glenn Aguilar, who graduated from motorcross to
superbike; and the three dressed-up Hayate Scooters from
Thailand.

order to emphasize our advocacy for safe motorcycle
riding, we have here the Suzuki Safety Riding Seminar
that will be conducted by highly trained Suzuki riding
instructors. Today is just one way of showing our
appreciation to you. Trust us that we at Suzuki

forward to the years ahead with you as our moving
force,” said Benedict Arreola, who is the motorcycle
marketing manager of Suzuki Philippines.
Emphasizing on diversity and style of Suzuki
motorcycles, there will be the Suzuki Lifestyle Fashion
Show showcasing the Suzuki apparel line, as well as
Motoworld motorcycle riding gears and helmets. The show
also highlights the new Suzuki Hayate, the Step 125, the
Raider J and the Raider 150. The Suzuki Riders Day on
December 15 will kick off with a grand motorcade around
Manila, Makati and Pasay, where about 1,000 riders from
different motorcycle-riding clubs are expected to join.
Riders will also have a chance to partake in the Suzuki-Unioil
Blitz Challenge at the IMAX Parking Lot to test their
wit and grits in a variety of obstacles. Another crowd
drawer would be the breathtaking stunt show performed by
the Suzuki Stunt Team. After a long day of riding their
bikes, the Suzuki- Motolite Street Party kicks off in
the night with live bands, games, raffle and a lot of
exciting activities.
The
event was organized in partnership with Unioil, Motolite
Motorcycle Batteries, Inside Racing and SM Supermalls
with the valuable support of Samsung, Motoworld and
Extreme Magic Sing. |
