THE government has abandoned plans to borrow as much as $1 billion from commercial creditors next year, saying the need for it has significantly diminished given the forecast surplus position of the national government.

FDIs 22% up at $1.9B in 1st 9 months

FOREIGN direct investments (FDIs) continued to flow inward in the first nine months, totaling $1.9 billion, or 22- percent higher than a year ago, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said on Monday.

Remittance growth more like 15%: BSP

THE forecast 10-percent growth in the remittances of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) this year was seen higher on Monday to around 15 percent instead, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said.
