SONY Ericsson expands its lineup of phone products—two from the Walkman line and another from its popular K-series product range.

The addition of the W890i and W380i Walkman phones, according to Dennis Manzano, Sony Ericsson general manager, address the needs of young, fashion-conscious music lovers as well as music connoisseurs who demand the best features and fast downloads, which are offered by these new phones. “These Walkman phones thus combine Sony Ericsson’s undeniable expertise in mobile communications and mobile music to stunning effect.”

The High Speed Data Packet Access (HSDPA)-capable and quad-band W890i Walkman phone comes with a 2-gigabyte capacity for an even bigger storage capacity of about 1,800 songs. It also comes with a 3.2-megapixel camera.

The phone also has the Walkman Player 3.0, the latest in Walkman technology that offers one-click access to the player and simple, intuitive navigation of music, plus a color-matched stereo headset and built-in stereo speakers for high-quality audio. It also has Album Art, where users can organize tracks by artist and album visually, or even select music to match the user’s mood through SensMe, a technology that automatically plots music based on tempo and mood.

On the other hand, the W380i has a unique clamshell form factor. It has the TrackID feature that tags a track from the phone’s radio and instantly identifies the singer, the title of the song, and which album it is from.

As for the K-series phone, Sony Ericsson introduces the K660i, an HSDPA-capable phone that hopes to attract those who like to surf the Web via their mobile phone.

“Sony Ericsson’s vision is to offer ‘Generation Web,’ a mobile internet experience that’s rich, user-friendly and satisfying,” says Manzano. “This Web-optimized phone is a clear step along that journey and will appeal to individuals who are managing their busy lives and social networks online, whether arranging to meet up for a game or booking concert tickets.”
