Asian real-estate expo set in RP

    By Max de Leon
    Reporter

THE Philippines will host the first Asian International Real Estate Expo and Conference (Aireec) to be attended by some 10,000 delegates from over 50 countries, including top-notch global developers.

Susan Barlin, Philippine special trade and investment envoy and event organizer, said they expect to close P10 billion in joint ventures, sales and other transactions involving local and foreign firms in the next six months as a result of the Aireec.

This is because aside from the exhibition, Barlin said, they will have business matching sessions for the Philippine and international real-estate firms.

Heading the cast of the Philippine exhibitors are Ayala Land, Megaworld, and Filinvest. There will be developers from California, New York, Thailand, Hong Kong and Dubai, among others.

Barlin said more than 3,000 delegates from around the world consisting of brokers, realtors and other allied industry stakeholders have confirmed attendance in the event that will run from December 6 to 10 at the Philippine International Convention Center.

She said the expo is a chance for the Philippines to showcase the best the country has to offer to real-estate investors and will also be used to strongly promote the labeling of Palawan, Boracay and Puerto Galera as the “last frontier” of Asia.
