THE
Captain’s Bar at Mandarin Oriental rang with celebration
as investors, real-estate players and members of the
press toasted the unveiling of Greenfield City,
envisioned to be the jewel in the crown of Santa Rosa,
Laguna. Once fully developed, the 300-hectare property
will also be the showpiece in Greenfield Development
Corp.’s portfolio, which includes Ayala Greenfield
Estates, Edsa Central, Greenfield District in
Mandaluyong and Manila Southwoods. For four decades, the
company has maintained a low profile—until now, that is.
“The sleeping giant is no longer sleeping,” chairman and
president Jeffrey Campos proudly announced during the
customary speech. “We will give developers a run for
their money,” he quipped.

Hosted
by Paolo Bediones and Angel Jacob, the launch unfolded
amid cocktails and endless rounds of Moët & Chandon
bubbly, culminating in an AVP of what is touted to be a
“world-class industrial, commercial and residential
hub.” Situated in the heart of industrial growth center
Calabarzon (Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon),
Greenfield City is about 40 kilometers south of Metro
Manila and just 45 minutes’ drive to the Makati Central
Business District and the Ninoy Aquino International
Airport. The master plan, drawn by California-based EDAW-EA
Ltd., marries the efficient use of space with
ecologically sound design. Along with the strategic
location and Santa Rosa’s well laid-out communication
and transportation infrastructure, the developer hopes
to attract more automotive, telecommunications, IT and
food and beverage companies to its Greenfield Auto Park,
a special industrial estate recognized by the Philippine
Economic Zone Authority. The 65-hectare industrial
property is home to Ford Motor Co.’s Philippine assembly
operations plant, Visteon Philippines, and Automotive
Interiors Corp.
The
city’s 10-hectare Santa Rosa Business Park is also open
to local and foreign investors in the market for prime
office and commercial lots. Adjacent to it will rise
Laguna Central, “a fresh alternative to...congested
malls and shopping centers.” The newest lifestyle and
commercial destination will house shopping, dining and
entertainment establishments next to offices, hotels and
serviced apartments, all set against a lush landscape.
Next door is Greenfield City’s popular leisure center,
Paseo de Santa Rosa.
Finally,
there’s Pramana, a residential community where
tree-lined roads, parks and greeneries occupy more than
half of the 80-hectare property. The charming
countryside atmosphere and its close proximity to
schools, hospitals and commercial establishments make it
an idyllic place to raise a family.
The
evening ended on a high note with a spirited performance
by Vina Morales, who successfully coaxed some guests to
flex their vocal chords on the mike. |
