Close race for top jockeys’ honors

THE US Breeders’ Cup, the richest two-day racing extravaganza in the whole world, ended up not with a big bang but left a big mark in the whole racing world.

The rains washed away the aspirations of the organizers to make it the biggest in terms of wagering and attendance, but it nevertheless gave the racing aficionados worldwide the excitement in seeing the best performers in recent years.

I was so disappointed not having seen the live feed of the said major races in our local channels and so with the thousand of local racing fans. I do hope to see them all in one piece one of these days. One good consolation was that my favorite horse, Curlin, won the featured Classic event. This horse was a favorite of mine even before he placed third to Street Sense in this year’s Kentucky Derby and developed into a champion horse in so short a time.

Anyway, for those who have called and e-mailed us for the past few days and inquiring about the complete lineup of results we have sorted them out here. I hope you have read the whole story which we printed here early this week.
