    ‘Temporarily closed’

Bubuwit was tipped of about a simmering feud between a lady top gun and her employees at an events marketing firm. She was a hot item in last week’s Bubuwit, and now she’s at it again! She suddenly and unceremoniously closed her office, which sent some shivers down the spine of her employees who have just returned from an out-of-town event. This “ill-mannered” and “paranoid” top gun ordered the closure of the office just because the employees did not report for work the following day. “She could have been considerate because we were so tired after that event. All we wanted was just to rest even for just a day. But she thought otherwise,” says one employee. When the workers tried to ask the top gun about the closure, she would not answer her phone. Her paramour (who sits as director of the company) kept mum as though no untoward incident was going on. This lover boy ran in the May election but lost and is said to be just waiting for a government post.

Didn’t this top gun sell the ads to the event’s committee supposedly for free with a publication as part of media tie-up? Bubuwit wonders if this has the go-signal of her lover boy and yet again, is he pretending not to know about it all?

The employees claimed they could no longer bear the continuing acts of harassments, illegal dismissal, nonpayment of 13th month and overtimes, separation pay, and moral and exemplary damages. Bubuwit was shocked to find out when the employees even recorded the top gun’s voice shouting and insulting a fresh graduate who wanted out of the company. “Gosh, how on earth a heartless cruel boss can have the nerve to say nasty things to her employee,” says Bubuwit. Everything is on record, Bubuwit was told. Even the posting of Temporarily Closed” on the door was on video.

The employees are not taking things lightly. This time, they’re fighting! Beware, says Bubuwit, if you happen to chance upon a proposal letter requesting for tie-ups, ex-deals, services, etc., coming from that company, don’t get hooked on it! Not even to entertain their calls. The latest buzz is that this top gun is holding office at home with her other employees still serving her. What the heck, Bubuwit says.

    I shall return

This person, Bubuwit is dying to know, is feared and disliked by many in the industry but also admired and respected. When this person left the industry, people thought he/she couldn’t come back anymore. Many say this person leave a post that only he/she can fill. This person is aggressive, accomplishing anything that he/she has to do, no qualms about that. Bubuwit squeaks that this person is now making his/her presence felt and many tagged him/her as one of the most outrageous people in the industry. And no matter what the press release says, Bubuwit says you can’t put a good person down!
