DIGITAL imaging products provider Epson Philippines Corp. has introduced its 64-inch-wide large format printer (LFP) Stylus Pro 11880 to tap multiple graphics services companies in the country.

The Japanese-owned company aims to offer the new printing unit with professional and advanced photographers, fine art productions, design home and agencies, printing houses, print for pay businesses and artists who need large printers to showcase their works in exhibits and galleries.

“We want to enhance the printer technology for the printing needs of the business sector, graphics industry and wide media,” said Eduardo Bonoan, senior general manager, division head of sales and marketing for Epson Philippines during the product launched held at Marciano’s in Greenbelt 2, Makati City. “The inkjet [printer remains to be] the industry standard as users need durability, quality and cost efficiency.”

The company suggested that magazine and other glossy-rich publications need not outsource their requirements to large printing houses in Hong Kong and other parts of Asia for the Stylus Pro is designed with micro piezo print head technology and UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta-an eight-color ink set that enhances color vibrancies of a printed material. It also automatically switches colors when printing photo and black inks.

On top of Stylus Pro’s size and advanced key features, Epson furthermore claims, their printer is environment-friendly.

“This printer prints odorless photos,” said James Lim, department head, digital imaging group regional branded product division of Epson Singapore.

The Stylus Pro will be sold for P895,000. Its 700-milliliter nine individual high-capacity ink cartridge cost P12,250 each.

The company is confident to market well the product after the Philippines has contributed 30 percent of the business in Epson-Asia-Pacific’s dominance of 80 percent last year.

“We hope to sell 10 units by the end of the year among our various target markets,” Lim told the BusinessMirror.
