THE new
owners of call center IntelliRisk Management Corp. (IRMC)
plans to further expand its operations in
Manila
and Clark Special Economic Zone (CSEZ).
“[Our
acquisition of IRMC] will lead to an increase in
employees worldwide and in the
Philippines,”
the press relations office of IRMC’s owner iQor Inc.
told BusinessMirror in an e-mail.
iQor, as
the new company is called, “now has more capital to
invest in people and technology which will lead to
greater growth, revenue and employment,” it said from
its headquarters in
New York.
IRMC,
which invested about $2.5 million in its CSEZ facility
and formally launched August last year, was part of
iQor’s assets sold to Guggenheim Investment Management
Llc. The sale was announced August this year. The
announcement also said that the parent company’s name
would remain iQor but would rename all IRMC-branded
units worldwide.
IRMC
Philippines Inc. will now be known as iQor Philippines
Inc.
iQor
also maintained it would be investing over $75 million
after Guggenheim assumed management control.
The
company expects this change to be totally seamless to
its clients, suppliers and employees. “Our vision,
values and processes remain the same,” iQor president
and chief executive Vikas Kapoor was quoted in a
statement as saying.
The
Philippines, Kapoor said, is “a booming market for our
industry characterized by remarkable growth.
“In the
last 12 months, we have tripled our employee count in
the Philippines. We have seen an increase in demand from
our clients to move calls back into the US as well as to
the Philippine market. As such, we plan to continue to
strengthen our presence in the market,” Kapoor added.
The
Philippines handles 25 percent of all international
business for the company, according to the statement.
“The
Philippines is one of our strongest markets and our
clients continue to want to do more and more business in
the Philippines,” Kapoor’s office said in an e-mail.
“This
means that employment continues to surge in Manila and
particularly, our site at Clark,” it added.
The
company employs about 1,000 in the Philippines and 6,000
in other centers worldwide.
The
company said it is gradually converting its licenses,
contracts, signage and materials to the new name.
In the
Philippines, “this conversion is largely complete,” the
company said. |
