IT’S
confirmed. Camille Prats is pregnant.
Last
July, Camille said goodbye to showbiz and said that she
was going to the US to finish her studies, saying that
she knows that her acting career isn’t forever and that
she has other dreams to fulfill. She asserted in a TV
interview that finishing her studies has become her
priority and that she wants to venture into other
things. She also denied she was pregnant.
Now, it
has been confirmed that the rumors were true all along,
and that the former child star is four months pregnant
by her nonshowbiz boyfriend. Before leaving for the
US,
Camille was getting a second lease in her showbiz life
when she transferred from ABS-CBN to GMA and joined the
cast of two top-ratings shows (Super Twins and
Captain Barbell). And to signal the shift in her
career, she shed her sweet and wholesome image by
becoming a cover girl on the steamy men’s magazine FHM.
Camille’s father, Dondi Prats, supposedly denied the
rumors when asked about it publicly or privately,
insisting that his daughter was really going to the US
to study. People say that he even went into detail
saying that Camille would be taking up a marketing
course. While not denying Camille’s relationship with a
nonshowbiz guy, he challenged those who had been
spreading pregnancy rumors about his daughter.
Then,
just when we thought that all this pregnancy talk is
over and done with, another source approached me to say
that the baby she is carrying may not even be that of
her nonshowbiz boyfriend’s! This source is saying that,
allegedly, the father is Paul Soriano, Toni Gonzaga’s
director boyfriend. Of course, this news shocked
me....Now he better directly answer the one question I
have for him when I get to see him soon!
I
remember when Carmina Villaroel first announced that she
was going to the US to undergo an operation. Then, she
also denied persistent talk about her being pregnant. Of
course, we all knew what happened next. She silently
slipped back into the country with two adorable twins by
her then-boyfriend Zoren Legaspi. She craftily bounced
back in showbiz and is now one of the more visible GMA
stars.
Anyway,
back to Camille: last we heard, Camille is now going to
be based permanently in the US.

ANOTHER
burning question that everyone is asking is: Was there
really cheating and manipulation in the “Wilyonaryo”
game of Wowowee? It’s a question that has hounded the
game show for the past week or so.
Well,
here is a statement from ABS-CBN, printed in full for
your perusal:
“We at
ABS-CBN love and respect our viewers and welcome any
investigation that would truly promote their welfare. We
have nothing to hide. We have apologized for our mistake
and have shown, on nationwide TV, how that mistake was
made. The only truth that matters is that it was an
honest mistake and there was never any intention to
cheat.
“We will
attend any hearing that invites us. Perhaps something
good can come out of this and other game shows can learn
from our mistake. But we also wish we could be allowed
to focus on our main goal, which is to improve all our
shows, improve our public service. ABS-CBN is painfully
aware of the more urgent needs of our countrymen. We
will focus on serving them—and urge everyone else to do
the same.” |
