Soup in
salad. Farmer
Rudy Wayan checks on his farm in La Trinidad Valley in
Benguet, where his lettuce was totally destroyed by
continuous heavy rains for almost a week brought by
typhoons Chedeng and Dodong. The Provincial
Agriculturist’s Office (PAO) said that about P1.83 million
worth of crops from Bakun and Mankayan towns were ruined,
based on partial reports on damage sent to the PAO. Most
of the crops now reaching the trading post are declared
second class, either due to the damage caused by the
typhoon or the natural decline in the quality of
vegetables and fruits owing to delays caused by
landslides. --MAURICIO
