Foreign and local Internet and mobile marketing experts will present the industry’s trade secrets, trends and emerging future when they gather in Manila for an international summit on August 9 and 10 at the Hotel Intercontinental in Makati City.

The event will also discuss market behavior and best international practices on Internet marketing and mobile advertising, according to the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP), the industry’s premier marketing group and summit organizer.

IMMAP president and Yehey.com. CEO Donald Patrick Lim said the experts would likewise unveil new approaches and techniques in digital advertising, including marketing opportunities in the booming online gaming.

“There are just too many things that industry players from various sectors can learn from the summit,” Lim says.

With “Global Trends for an Interactive Philippines” as theme, the summit brings international movers Yahoo! Asia-Pacific, Google, Dentsu, Havas Media, Proximity Worldwide, and Isobar together with local industry leaders Global Wireless Connections, Yehey, IPVG and Globe Telecom Inc., Smart Communications, among others, in the two-day event.

The Internet and Mobile Marketing Summit 2007 will also be the launching ground for the Boomerang Awards, the first and only awards that gives recognition to the most creative and innovative Internet marketing and mobile campaigns that made their mark in the country.

Launched in November 2006, IMMAP comprises more than 50 member-companies aiming to elevate the status of Internet and mobile as highly recognized marketing tools. Internet users in the Philippines numbers around nine million and mobile phone users, 40 million. Together, they make up almost 60 percent of the total population, indicating a wealth of opportunity for using these digital media for effective marketing.
