FASHION and breakthroughs in safety technology in one ride.

That in a capsule was the essence of the new scooter model Suzuki introduced during an elaborate launching last week at the Dusit Hotel Nikko in Makati City.

“With its urbanized state-of-the-art features, we proudly introduce the revolutionary Hayate Super CVT 125 which is the latest addition to the Suzuki family. It guarantees premium performance, premium styling and convenience that will surely create an impression with the meticulous scooter rider,” said Kiyoshi  Kawahara, president of Suzuki.

Kawahara is confident that the new scooter model “will surely impact on the motorcycle industry” owing to its remarkable style and added safety features. Getting its name from “swift wind,” Hayate 125 will provide the “ultimate riding experience with its class-leading acceleration, maximum power and torque without sacrificing a stable riding feeling.”

Packed with the biggest displacement among all Japanese scooter brands at 125 cc, the Hayate 125 features a single-cylinder, four-stroke engine with the latest in motorcycle technology. A safety engine cut-off side stand automatically deactivates the engine once the stand is engaged, and a shuttered ignition switch prevents theft and vandalism when it is on.

It also gives premium performance and comfort on an urbanized sporty ride and is well equipped with features that give the rider ultimate comfort. It has an 18-liter under-seat storage compartment capable of holding a full-face helmet, a front rack for magazines, canned drinks and other small items and a shopping bag hook.

The scooter is available in two colors—white and medium blue metallic—and is now on sale in all Suzuki dealers nationwide for an introductory price of P72,900 per unit. Other Suzuki accessories can be added to the Hayate 125.

Kawahara said that “the launch of Suzuki Hayate 125 made Suzuki the only motorcycle manufacturer in the country that carries the most complete and the widest range of motorcycle models—from solo-ride underbones to the sporty ones and even the business models for tricycles. With the Hayate 125 we are aiming to give the motorcyclists the ultimate urbanized sporty choice in scooters.”
