call center industry has aimed its medium- term and
long-term goals at doubling its share of the global

Exports grow 6.1% in May |

THE
country’s merchandise exports for May grew by 6.1 percent to
$4.12 billion from a year earlier on the back of higher
demand for the country’s minerals and electronics products
in foreign markets during the period. |

approved lower container scanning rates as port users
requested, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) rejected a proposal
that makes it simpler for companies to pay these fees. |

$264-B remittances well–UN head |

UNITED
Nations secretary-general Ban Ki Moon has urged member
countries to use the $264-billion annual remittances of
global migrants to help these workers put up enterprises as
well as invest in education and health through microbanks to
prevent massive brain drains and deteriorating health care
in the countries of these workers. |
