FOLLOWING 30 years of success in manufacturing tires for on and off road applications, BFGoodrich has released two 4x4 tires that have been developed from the company’s experience in the tough Baja and Dakar rallies.

The two tires—BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A and All-Terrain T/A—feature the latest technological breakthroughs in design and construction that not only make driving with them enjoyable but safe as well.

The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires are designed for driving on both paved or unpaved surfaces, which may range from smooth to rocky, making it one of the most versatile 4x4 tires in the market. The company says that its dual-tread radius improves stress distribution, which results in decreased irregular wear and increases tread life by up to 12 percent. Its distinctive tread design with Shoulderlock technology traction enables it to handle a wide variety of conditions, reduce gravel wear and repel loose stones. BFGoodrich recommends this particular tire for such vehicles as the Ford Explorer, Isuzu Trooper, Jeep Cherokee, Land Rover Defender, Mitsubishi Pajero, Nissan Murano, Nissan Patrol, Toyota 4 Runner, Toyota Hi-Lux, Toyota Land Cruiser and Toyota Prado.

Meanwhile, those who spend a lot of time in the dirt and mud now have an effective weapon against loss of traction with the BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A tires. Sticky, wet and slippery mud is no longer a factor owing to the tires’ deeper tread design, larger contact patch, interlocking tread design and advanced tread compounding. Sand and gravel are also easy pickings with the Diggerlugz, which makes use of big, bold blocks to provide excellent traction and steering control. In addition to their remarkable performance in treacherous conditions, the Mud-Terrain T/A Sidewalls features large, smart-looking graphics that enhance its looks. BFGoodrich recommends this tire for heavy-duty vehicles such as the Jeep Wrangler, Land Rover Defender, Land Rover Discovery, Nissan Pathfinder, Nissan Patrol, Toyota 4 Runner and Toyota Land Cruiser.

Peter Bangayan, general manager of Ryco Inc., which distributes BFGoodrich tires in the Philippines, says that “All-Terrain T/A or Mud-Terrain T/A are up for anything. Their legendary TriGard three-ply carcass construction beats the competition’s two-ply carcasses hands down. Even in the most extreme conditions. These tires resist bruising and punctures under the tread and in the sidewall. Special rim protectors mean rocks and other off-road hazards pose no threat.”
