Passengers in UK vessel hit by virus

LONDON—Travelscope Holidays Ltd., a UK holiday tour operator, has apologized and offered refunds to passengers affected by a virus outbreak during a vacation on its Van Gogh cruise ship, the British Broadcasting Corp. said on its web site, citing the company.
Over 100 passengers and crew suffered symptoms, including vomiting, during the second day on the ship, which was detained Monday by the UK coastguard after arriving at Harwich, England, the BBC said.
Five hundred passengers waiting to board at the port for a voyage to Norway were told to return home, the BBC added.
“We are very sorry that the holidays of some passengers were affected by this virus,” the BBC cited Travelscope as saying in a statement. The cause of the virus is still unclear and the ship is expected to set sail again on June 3, the BBC said. Bloomberg
