Participants in the Enduro San Mig Light Adventure Series get ready to go in Boracay. The first of this year’s three legs will kick off on May 27 in Cebu City.

THE countdown to 2006’s first leg begins as the Enduro San Mig Light Adventure Series sounds off its final call for participants to prepare and gear up for the biggest adventure racing event of the year which kicks off in Cebu City on May 27.

       This year’s Cebu leg, however, only has the Novice category. This category is suited for adventure-racing enthusiasts, weekend warriors, yuppies and students who want to experience the thrill the Enduro SML Adventures has to offer.
       The race, a four- to six-hour quest, is open to beginners, students, yuppies and weekend warriors and now hard-core and professional racers.
       “The Cebu leg promises to be more challenging this time. We are inviting everyone to take part in his exciting event to experience the thrill and action of the Enduro San Mig Light Adveture Series,” said race director Neyney Guevarra.
       With an expanded course, the first leg is expected to draw attention to some of the south’s exotic islands and historical places.
       This event is presented by San Mig Light, the right alcohol less filling beer, “na pang-mahaba-habang inuman,” which, for years has supported the growth of adventure racing in the country.
       More than P100,000 in cash prizes are at stake, as well as San Mig Light premium prizes and trophies in this event also supported by NS Royal Pension House Cebu, Converse, Rudy Project, Habagat, North Face and Bombproof
       A total of 100 racers are expected to take part in this annual adventure race that promises to get bigger and better in its third year.
       The Enduro SML Adventure Series, for three straight years, has tested the endurance, stamina, wits and skills of its participants as it gave adventure racing a whole new definition.
       The Enduro SML Series delivers intense action as each racer comes face-to-face with unexpected trials and hardships along the race.
       The champion in the Novice category receives P15,000, while second placer will get P10,000.
