  • Villar richest, ‘Ka’ Bel poorest House rep

    NATIONALISTA Party Rep. Cynthia Villar of Las Piñas is still the richest legislator in the House of Representatives.

    In the summary of filed Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth of House members as of December 31, 2007, Villar, wife of Senate President Manuel Villar, declared assets and net worth of P1,041,383,946 with no liabilities.

    Party-list Rep. Crispin Beltran of Anakpawis, who died after falling from the roof of his house after fixing it on Tuesday, is the poorest, with declared assets of P110,000, liabilities of P60,000 and a net worth of P50,000.

    Villar was followed by Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino (Kampi) Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez of Leyte, with assets worth P477,205,745.59 and no liabilities.

    Among the top 10 richest legislators are:

    §          Lakas Rep. Julio Ledesma IV of Negros Occidental, with assets worth P473,374,000 and no liabilities;

    §          Lakas Rep. Judy Syjuco of Iloilo, with net worth P406,205,413.59;

    §          Independent Rep. Edgar San Luis of Laguna with net worth P200,656,449;

    §          Lakas Rep. Ferjenel Biron of Iloilo with P190,900,000 with no liabilities;

    §          Liberal Party (LP) Rep. Rodolfo Valencia of Oriental Mindoro with declared assets of P351,616,323.10, liabilities of P201,125,365 and net worth P150,490,958;

    §          Kampi Rep. Aurelio Gonzales Jr. of Pampanga with declared assets of P158,683,480, liabilities of P10,983,480 and net worth of P147,700,000.

    §          Kampi Rep. Ignacio Arroyo of Negros Occidental with declared assets of P153,394,259.04, liabilities of P7,580,807.34 and net worth of P145,813,451.70

    §          LP Rep. Paul Daza with assets worth P165,000,000, with P27,100,000 liabilities and net worth of P137, 900,000.
