Dino Imperial is now tagged as the moment’s “it”
boy thanks to his high-profile ad appearances in Coke,
PLDT MyDSL and Teriyaki Boy. This Star Circle 13 member
was paired with Empress Schuck in Abt Ur Luv and
Astig. His pairing with Empress was one of the
most admired loveteams on TV but they are now being
paired with other stars. Dino is now paired with Andy
Eigenmann in Prinsesa ng Banyera.
He
celebrated his birthday recently in Prince of Jaipur in
The Fort, which became tinged with controversy because a
photo came out on the Internet and in tabloids showing
Dino making out with some girl. Here he explains his
side:
Happy
birthday, Dino. I can’t believe you’re already 20
because I used to see you when you were so young just
running and goofing around….
It’s
been that long? (Chuckles)
Is it
true that boys your age can’t wait to get older while
us, uhm, more mature people always wish to feel and look
your age?
I grew
up quite early. It’s how my parents raised me. They
didn’t treat us like kids, that’s why I woke up to the
realities of life right away, and I’m thankful my
parents have always trusted me that I can handle growing
up right away.
But some
people see you just as a makulit and goofy guy….
I can
be. I am actually. Many of my friends think I’m the
clown, but I can talk serious and relate to mature
topics.
How did
you celebrate your birthday?
I had a
party in Prince of Jaipur with my friends and
classmates.
That’s
where this photo now circulating of you making out with
a girl was captured, right?
Yes. I
don’t know what the fuss is all about. It’s just a kiss
with my girlfriend. We are showing our love for each
other. Some writers said I was immoral thinking it was
just some random girl I kissed, but she’s my girlfriend.
Tell me
about her.
Well,
she’s nonshowbiz so she got shocked when the photo began
circulating, but she has learned to handle it. She’s a
very smart and nice girl. We’ve been going out for quite
some time now.
You’re
now a Studio 23 VJ. Tell me how it is so far.
It’s
very fun. It’s another side of me because people have
seen me largely in my commercials and acting gigs. Many
people say, “Wow, Dino, you can host pala.” So at least
it’s one more thing about me that I can show people.
I also
know you’re a budding DJ…
(Laughs)
You really know me so well. Yup, I play around with
beats and make some on my own. I have recorded a few
instrumental tracks.
What
does it sound like?
It’s
electronica so it’s big beats but very melodic...and
danceable.
Are you
comfortable with your tag now as an “it” boy?
I
actually do not know what “it” means. I mean, who can be
“it” and how can one be “it”? I just do my job the best
way I can, and I’m just glad that people are noticing
it.
Well,
you should know that part of being an “it” boy is being
swarmed by young girls…
(Chuckles) That I don’t mind.
And gays
too!
(Laughs)
Well, I don’t mind that, too. I have a lot of gay
friends. Like you! (Laughs some more) |
