  • Manila court issues hold-departure
    order against Gabby Concepcion

    By TJ Agcaoili
    Correspondent

THE Regional Trial Court in Manila has issued a hold departure order (HDO) against actor Gabby Concepcion to prevent him from leaving the country.

Conception is facing bigamy charges before the court.

The actor earlier posted a P12,000 bail together with lawyer Ed Flaminiano on March 31, but the prosecutor asked the court the the bail be raised to P24,000.

The prosecutor said the bail must be increased to prevent Concepcion from jumping bail.

Concepcion faces bigamy charges for marrying Sharon Cuneta in 1984, when he was already allegedly married to Jenny Martin in the US.

The public prosecutor said the HDO is intended to prevent Concepcion from leaving the country.

Court records show that the bigamy case was filed on July 17, 1996, and was archived on August 29, 1997, because Concepcion cannot be located by the court personnel and policemen sent to arrest him after a warrant for his arrest was issued on August 6, 1996, eight months after he left the country.

Aside from the bigamy case, Conception also faces another case for alleged falsification of public documents.
