Ayala
Land-affiliate Cebu Holdings Inc. (CHI) will transform a
portion of its 200-hectare property in the uplands of
Cebu City into a nature park.
CHI
assistant vice president Ver dela Cerna said they will
set aside 71 hectares of the property located in Cebu
City’s mountain barangays.
“This
facility will be open to students and the public who
wanted to enjoy nature,” dela Cerna told BusinessMirror.
The
Ayala Heights Nature’s Park is geared to become an
ecotourism destination and is expected to be completed
within a year.
A
foundation has been set up to oversee the operations of
the nature park, which will feature nature trails and
wildlife, among others.
“We are
also working with various organizations,” dela Cerna
said.
CHI
chairman Jaime Ayala last week described the project as
the Ayala group’s commitment to protect Cebu’s watershed
areas.
“We are
not developing it as a residential area. We will make it
available to the community being a valuable protected
area,” Ayala said.
He added
that CHI will fulfill its commitment to buyers and lot
owners in Ayala Heights subdivision which is also
located inside the 200-hectare property. |
