WELL,
sweetie, finally one of the main characters in the
ongoing saga of Australian Brian Gorrell has
resurfaced—albeit weeks after Mr. Gorrell’s blog first
hit the ethers with all sorts of fabulously wicked tales
about so-called high society around these parts. Of
course, we mean Delfin Justiniano Montano, more popular
known in the never-ending party circuit simply as DJ,
who, along with his family, had a lovely weekend chat on
some local cable-news program.
Yes,
sweetie, I realize that it’s wrong to refer to Mr.
Montano as “one of the main characters”; after all, he
is central to the huge drama playing out online before a
global audience. Still, I imagine that playing such a
huge leading role can be exhausting, sweetie, and the
poor little thing did look more than a tad exhausted.
Which may or may not explain how the local word
bangungot slipped out of those lips sounding strange
enough to induce a waking nightmare.
Now,
sweetie, one of the places that have become a regular
stop for discerning people desperate to relax and
recharge is, of course, The Spa, whose growing chain for
mind-body pampering now includes its newest branch at
posh Bonifacio High Street in The Fort, Taguig City. The
new branch was recently introduced in a chic cocktail
party that gave guests a preview of what’s in store for
weary bodies and spirits.
During
the event, which was hosted by radio personalities Chico
and Delamar, guests were welcomed by the soothing harp
symphonies of Holly Angel Paraiso and a graceful ballet
number by dancers from the Philippine Ballet Theater,
while enjoying cocktail treats and drinks prepared by
CAV. They also had the chance to get an exclusive peek
of the sought-after artistry and décor of the new branch
as they were given a tour.
As one
familiar with The Spa’s sense of aesthetics, sweetie,
the Bonifacio High Street branch reflects a cosmopolitan
feel, with wide airy spaces and modern interiors. The
branch radiates a minimalist feel of urban Zen, thanks
to interior designers Cynthia and Ivy Almario, in
collaboration with Anton J. Mendoza. Also contributing
to the branch are architects Francis Ong and Edgar Chan,
as well as local talents Anne Pamintuan and Mayie
Delgado.
What
sets The Spa’s new branch apart from other branches,
sweetie, are The Premier Villas, which offer a kind of
“resort in the city” ambiance. Located on the top floor
of the building overlooking Bonifacio High Street, these
stand-alone villas offer a more private experience for
guests who want to feel truly relaxed with their choice
treatments and massages. All villas radiate a similar
look and feel but each one is designed to cater to
specific treatments and services. The general setup
includes a shower, steam room, Jacuzzi, massage bed and
chair, as well as an exclusive vanity set for the
convenience of the guest. For more information on the
services and spa packages, visit www.thespa.com.ph.
Now, as
for that epic drama still unfolding online, sweetie, I
have been told that there’s plenty more to unfold.
Sweet, don’t you think? |
