  • CVC bar bets score
    100% passing rate

CVC LAW (Villaraza Cruz Marcelo & Angangco), again scored 100 percent passing rate in the bar examinations among the law graduates it recruited.

Results of the 2007 bar examinations show that the 12 CVC LAW’s underbars all passed the grueling examinations.

CVC LAW is the only law firm in the country that has maintained a 100-percent passing rate among the law graduates it recruits as underbars every year. This is common knowledge within the Philippine legal community, particularly among the prestigious law firms in Makati. No other law firm comes close to this achievement.

The result of the recent bar examinations is but a continuation of this proud and exclusive tradition. All of the firm’s 12 underbars were among the 1,289 examinees that made the grueling cut to lawyerhood.

Led by seventh placer Sheryl Ann Tizon, the credentials of the firm’s latest batch of lawyers represent the best of their batch of 2007 law graduates.

Maria Sophia Cruz-Abrenica graduated with a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Molecular Biology from Vrije Universiteit, Brussels, Belgium, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, cum laude, from the University of the Philippines-Diliman.

Charmian Wyanet Zaragoza graduated with a Juris Doctor degree with honors from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management Economics, minor in Spanish, from the Ateneo de Manila University Loyola Schools.

Hyacinth Rafael graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law, where she was a member of the Philippine Law Journal and the Order of the Purple Feather Honor Society. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the Ateneo de Manila University Loyola Schools.

Candy Avance graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law. She also holds a masters degree in Political Economy and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities from the University of Asia and the Pacific.

Jonathan Pampolina graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law, where he was the Magno S. Gatmaitan awardee for Best Paper in Professional Responsibility. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the Ateneo de Manila University Loyola Schools.

Charles Edward Cheng graduated 12th in his class with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law, where he was a member of the Philippine Law Journal, treasurer of the Law Student Government and member of the Order of the Purple Feather Honor Society. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management, minor in Finance, honorable mention, from the Ateneo de Manila University Loyola Schools.

Christopher A. Rodriguez graduated with a Juris Doctor degree, second honors, from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree, major in Legal Management, honorable mention, from the De La Salle University.

Reezann Keith Ramos graduated with a Juris Doctor degree, second honors, from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree, major in Legal Management, honorable mention, from the De La Salle University.

Melissa Leonardo graduated with a Juris Doctor degree, second honors, from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, cum laude, from the University of the Philippines-Diliman.

Fritzzie Lyn Español-Laureano graduated with a Juris Doctor degree with honors from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law, where she was in the top 20 of her class. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Santo Tomas.

Ramon Manolo Alcasabas graduated seventh in his class with a Juris Doctor degree, second honors, from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of the Philippines-Diliman.

Bar seventh placer Sheryl Ann Tizon graduated in the top 10 of her class with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law. Turning 24 only in February, she completed her undergraduate course in only three years by doing overload and summer classes, eventually obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, magna cum laude, from the University of the Philippines-Diliman. She was likewise a consistent elementary and high-school honor student in La Consolacion College, Manila.

Each year, the firm’s Hiring Committee, composed of lawyers Augusto A. San Pedro Jr., Manuel L. Manaligod Jr., Susan D. Villanueva and Aida Araceli G. Roxas-Rivera, experience the same kind of pressure whenever the results of the bar examinations are about to come out, as if taking the bar themselves all over again.

The Firm will host its annual lunch in honor of its latest batch of lawyers on Tuesday, April 1.
