PGA Cars unveils the new Audi A4

    By Max V. de Leon
    Reporter

PGA Cars believes the new Audi A4 it introduced in the Philippine market would be a top seller among premium mid-sized sedans.

Robby Niermann, managing director of PGA Cars Audi Center Philippines, said the Audi A4 will likely sell 100 units a year, especially with a positive economic environment that boosts the market’s purchasing capacity for high-end products.

“It does help that people are becoming more confident in spending their money,” Niermann told BusinessMirror at the Audi A4 launch in PGA’s Edsa showroom. Niermann said the new Audi A4 will also help the company increase its sales for the year to about 200 units from only 130 units last year.

The Audi A4 sells between P2.5 million and P4 million and competes directly against the Mercedes C-Class and the BMW 3-series. The first batch of A4s from Germany will arrive in June.

PGA Cars has been allotted 60 units of the Audi A4 that now sells briskly in Europe, Niermann said. “We hope to sell our allocation as quickly as possible.”

Variants for the local market are the A4 1.8 TFSI (petrol) and the A4 2.0 TDI (diesel). All are equipped with the new multitronic eight-speed automatic transmission that allows improved startup behavior, reduced fuel consumption and more shift dynamics in the S mode.
