    PETA SUMMER THEATER COURSES ARTS

SING or dance your summer days at the 2008 Peta Summer Theater Arts Workshop with classes that will surely chase the La Niña blues away.

Create and star in your original musical production in the Creative Musical Theater class.  This course will let you discover new things about yourself and allow your creative mind and body achieve full potential. The course also builds confidence and improves personality, teaches the value of teamwork and respect for other people’s opinions and identities. Sounds ambitious? Wait till you see yourself bloom in four weeks of fun and games, creative drama sessions, creative songwriting, creative improvisations, movement explorations, music sessions and vocalization exercises.

This class will be facilitated by multiawarded writer/composer/actor Vincent A. de Jesus, and cofacilitated by singer/performing artist/music teacher/vocal coach Neomi Tabanao-Gonzales, who has performed for various theater companies including Peta, Philippine Opera Company, Repertory Philippines and UP Dulaang Laboratoryo.

The CreativeDance Theater will teach you that dance theater does not always have to be classical ballet, jazz, ballroom or folk dancing.  You will explore body movements as a medium of artistic expression. Senior Peta artist-teacher Dudz Teraña facilitates the class, with dancer, choreographer and actor Carlon John Matobato as cofacilitator.

Participants for both classes must be at least 17 years old, and must show interest in music, acting and movement.  The workshop starts on April 15 and ends on May 10, weekdays from 6 to 10 pm at the Peta Theater Center, 5 Eymard Drive, New Manila, Quezon City (at the back of Quezon City Sports Club).

Other courses offered are Children’s Theater, Teen Theater, Theater Arts 1, Basic Acting, Production Design, Community Theater, Theater for Advocacy and Theater-In-Education.

    For inquiries: 410-0821, 725-6244, 0917-8154567, 0916-5805153.
