    Another trip to Who-ville

Actress was married for a number of years and bore beautiful children out of this marriage with character actor-turned-politician. Everyone thought theirs was a happy marriage. They would do TV guestings either as a couple or with the whole family announcing to the whole world that family life was heavenly.

But one day, actress—who also ran in the recent election and won—just woke up and decided she didn’t love her husband anymore. So she packed her bags and moved. Apparently, to the arms of another politician who is married, and together they have become the power couple in city hall.

Now, just like any other girl, actress likes to be pampered when at the salon. So, one day, she went to her favorite salon to have her hair trimmed and probably have her highlights retouched. But upon arriving at the salon, she found herself being nervously sent away...because the wife of her politician boyfriend was already there enjoying her hair treatment!

Of course, at that point, actress was utterly clueless as to why she was being sent away and became adamant about getting herself done-up. The poor salon staff knew better than to bring her to pride-of-place part of the salon, and thus discreetly asked if she wouldn’t mind getting her beautification project going at an isolated area. It was at this point that her girl Friday whispered that wife of boyfriend was there and it would be in everybody’s best interest to be discreet. To save face, actress-turned-politician followed the receptionist to the part of the salon reserved for social pariahs, where she had her hair cut in unbreakable silence.

ONE thing’s for sure, that incident didn’t happen in Antonio Hairdressing, the successful salon chain by Pin Antonio, which recently opened its latest branch in Don Antonio on Commonwealth, Quezon City.

It was cloudy during the opening but it was nonetheless as bright as summer because Amy Perez, Aiko Melendez, Mariel Rodriguez, Yeng Constantino and Empress Schuck came out to support the opening.  The salon, conveniently located on Holy Spirit Drive near Commonwealth Avenue, serves as the fourth branch of the ever-growing Antonio Hairdressing family. The first is on Sgt. Esguerra, while branches in Libis and BF Homes Parañaque are operating successfully.

SEATED: Amy Perez and Carlo Castillo; standing: Dr. Louise Curammeng (Don Antonio franchisee), Pin Antonio, Sonny Magundayao and Alex Santos

Antonio Hairdressing is led by creative director Pin Antonio, a world-renowned and international award-winning hairstylist who is a pioneer in cut and color. She is currently in Los Angeles studying under the world-renowned Vidal Sassoon Academy. Also on Pin’s itinerary is attending Hairworld at McCormick Center in Chicago, a yearly gathering of salon owners and hairdressers worldwide organized by the Paris-based Organisation Mondiale Coiffure. She’s also taking up a specialized course in hair extensions in Hairlocs in Hollywood. Needless to say, she is planning to pass on to her staff what she has learned.

Says Amy, “That’s what’s great about Ms. Pin. She goes at least once a year out of the country to further her craft, and she applies what she learned very well and teaches them to her staff.”

Mariel has nothing but praise for Pin. “She fits hairstyles and colors to you and your personality. Antonio Hairdressing has a certain signature. You’d know their work from how sleek the haircut is. Ms. Pin has originated a lot of hair trends that a lot of people also try to copy but you would know if it’s Ms. Pin or her staff who’s done it.”

Sonny Magundayao, the business-savvy mind behind Antonio Hairdressing, says this endeavor “is our way to make the Pin Antonio touch more accessible to a lot of people. We opened franchising of Antonio Hairdressing recently and the convenience of their locations is what people are thanking us for. They know they can get the world-class style of Pin Antonio just a few minutes from where they live.”

So far, all the franchises of Antonio Hairdressing are enjoying tremendous success. Their branches on Sgt. Esguerra near ABS-CBN, Libis and BF Homes Parañaque now have a large database of clients. And even if it just opened, Antonio Hairdressing in Don Antonio is now enjoying a steady stream of clients based on nearby areas.
