    Acer’s small wonder

Being small should be no hindrance to being the best. Realizing this, Acer, one of the world’s top computer manufacturers, came up with its own small version of a notebook computer, the Acer Aspire AS2920Z-2A0508Mi and AS2920-5A1G16Mi.

This marks the first time that Acer released consumer-focused notebook computers in the 12-inch screen, 2-kilogram category, promising to give consumers more mobility and convenience in their computing life, particularly for on-the-go, on-the-road mobile cyberwarriors and telecommuters.

However, despite the small size, Acer made sure that the two products would not fall short in terms of features, affordability and, most of all, performance, whether in multitasking situations, speed, storage size, low power consumption and overall audio and video brilliance.

The AS2920Z comes with a dual-core Pentium processor T2330 (1.6GHz, 1MB cache, 533MHz FSB) with Mobile Intel GL960 Express chipset, 512MB memory (upgradeable to 2GB), Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with up to 358MB DVMT 4.0 video memory (8MB dedicated and 350MB shared), and 80GB SATA hard drive.

On the other hand, the Acer Aspire AS2920-5A1G16Mi, the higher-end of the two, is packed with the Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo T5550 (1.83GHz, 2MB, 677 FSB), a Mobile Intel GM965 Express chipset, 1GB DDR2 (upgradeable to 4GB) memory, Intel
Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with up to 358MB DVMT 4.0 video memory (8MB dedicated and 350MB shared), and 160GB SATA hard drive.

The other advantage of these two notebooks is their 12.1-inch WXGA TFT LCD display screen with Acer’s patented Crystalbrite technology, making computing even when outdoors not too much of a strain on sensitive eyes, plus built-in new Acer CrystalEye web cam that supports Acer PrimaLite technology, a big plus when doing video conferences in offices or simply talking to a loved one.
