LORRAINE
UY homered in the final inning as De La Salle rallied to
beat Ateneo, 6-4, yesterday in the University Athletic
Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 70 softball
tournament at the University of Santo Tomas Open Field.
University of the Philippines (UP), behind the two home
runs of Amalia Sayuno, defeated University of the East (UE),
6-4, for its third win in as many games, also yesterday.
Uy,

the top of the seventh inning, pushing pitcher Joy
Lanting—who reached second on a fielding error—for a
two-run home run that broke a 4-4 deadlock.
Lanting,
who fanned five and yielded four runs and four hits in a
complete game, grounded out two batters including the
final out in the bottom of the seventh to end the game.
De La
Salle improved to 2-1 while Ateneo remained winless in
three outings.
