CEBU Pacific (CEB) will start servicing Vietnam in April, the country’s budget airline said Thursday.

“We are very excited to fly to Vietnam because we know that this is one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in Asia. With the launching of these new international routes, we hope to further encourage trade and tourism between the Philippines and Vietnam,” said Candice Iyog, CEB vice president for marketing and product.

This introductory seat sale will run from January 18 to 24, 2008 and is good for travel from April 10 to June 30, 2008. Tickets are nonrefundable and exclusive of surcharges and government tax.

The Manila-Hanoi service will start on April 10 and is offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, using CEB’s 150-seater A319 aircraft. The flight departs from Manila at 10:50 p.m. and arrives at Noi Bai International Airport at 12:25 a.m. the following day. The return flight leaves Hanoi at 1:10 a.m. and arrives in Manila at 4:45 a.m. CEB will be the only airline to operate a direct service to Hanoi.

Flights to Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon, will begin on April 11 and is scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Using CEB’s A319 aircraft, the flight leaves Manila at 10:50 p.m. and lands in the Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 12:15 a.m. the following day. The flight to Manila leaves at 1:00 a.m. and arrives at 4:25 a.m.

After the seat sale, the lowest ‘Go’ fare to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh starts at P999 one-way. The price is more than 65-percent lower than current fares for these routes.

CEB flies to 12 international and soon to be 21 domestic destinations with the addition of Boracay (Caticlan) beginning February 29.
